Anybody have them, they're more of a sneaker design for comfort but above average protection. i scored a used pair on EBay.

I have a pair of TCX Moves ... very similar in design. I only wear them when it's really hot as they make me very conscious of the the fact that they're about the minimum level of protection that you can get away with.

I have something similar that I wear when it's blistering hot Link and I've been super happy with them. So....I guess my point is the *style* of shoe/boot has it's place. Can't speak to the specific shoe you picked up. They look comfy though.

I don't get it.
Why are those sneakers any better than $50 sneakers?

The ride may be fun, but in the Great Scheme of things, it really is about the destination! John 3:16

the ones I have are reinforced at the toe and the ankles so that it's at least some minimal protection to ride with - way beyond regular sneakers.

As mentioned, usually a higher level of protection; reinforced heels, toes and soles. As long as some ankle protection, I'm good with it.
